چکیده

The NLSE soliton scattering by impurities is considered in the framework of the one-dimensional model. The scattering intensity is characterized by the reflection coefficient. The reflection coefficient of the soliton is calculated in the Born approximation of the perturbation theory for the following cases: (i) and isolated impurity, (ii) two point impurities, and (iii) a regular or random system of point impurities. An analytical comparison with the scattering of linear waves is earned Out. In particular, we analytically describe the nonlinear resonant scattering by two point impurities, and the non-resonant soliton scattering by a random system of point impurities.

Resonant scattering on impurities in the quantum Hall effect.

We develop a new approach to carrier transport between the edge states via resonant scattering on impurities, which is applicable both for short and long range impurities. A detailed analysis of resonant scattering on a single impurity is performed. The results are used for study of the inter-edge transport by multiple resonant hopping via different impurities’ sites. It is shown that the total...

Electronic superlattice revealed by resonant scattering from random impurities in Sr3Ru2O7

Resonant elastic x-ray scattering (REXS) is an exquisite element-sensitive tool for the study of subtle charge, orbital, and spin superlattice orders driven by the valence electrons, which therefore escape detection in conventional x-ray diffraction (XRD). Although the power of REXS has been demonstrated by numerous studies of complex oxides performed in the soft x-ray regime, the cross section...

Resonant light-light interaction in slab waveguides: angular filters and spectral hole burning

We consider the process of low-power light scattering by optical solitons in a slab waveguide with homogeneous and inhomogeneous refractive index core. We observe resonant reflection (Fano resonance) as well as resonant transmission of light by optical solitons at certain incident angles. The resonance position can be controlled experimentally by changing the soliton intensity and the relative ...

Resonant Scattering by Magnetic Impurities as a Model for Spin Relaxation in Bilayer Graphene.

We propose that the observed spin relaxation in bilayer graphene is due to resonant scattering by magnetic impurities. We analyze a resonant scattering model due to adatoms on both dimer and nondimer sites, finding that only the former give narrow resonances at the charge neutrality point. Opposite to single-layer graphene, the measured spin-relaxation rate in the graphene bilayer increases wit...

Resonant scattering in random-polymer chains with inversely symmetric impurities

In the frame of the tight-binding approximation, we study the electronic transport and delocalization in one-dimensional random-polymer chains, where the impurity clusters are randomly distributed in the host monatomic chain and the impurity atoms possess inverse symmetry in each cluster. As an example, the asymmetric trimer case is presented first. The resonant energy is obtained analytically,...
